If you are using Thesis you may be already know about Thesis Open Hook Plugin.One of the useful and must have plugin for Thesis WordPress theme.If you not using Thesis Open Hook plugin you can download and install it from here and go through the step by step process.
Step 1 : Go to Thesis Open Hook plugin
Step 2 : Select Hook – After header (thesis_hook_after_header).
If your Primary Navigation Menu is already under Header you can use Hook – Before header (thesis_hook_before_header)
Step 3 : Copy below code in the Plugin Hook Interface

Step 4 : Now remove the Adsense Code with Your Google Adsense unit code and click tick mark on Enable PHP option and click save.

You are placed a Google Adsense ad unit after header of thesis theme.You can Change the Background color to suite your theme design also text-alignment and floating direction also customizable.
